Hello August!

I've been absent.
Due to the fact that I been
a) at the Highland Games in Maxville (Glengarry Games)
b) spending a relaxing week at my friends cottage: fishing, swimming and soaking up rays!

A) Seeing all the people in their kilts made me a little jealous. And hey with plaid being 'in' this season why not show off some plaid wear that i've found online!

HE CATCHES RAINDROPS FROM HIS WINDOW

Okay, so I stumbled upon this band quite a long time ago but I feel that they need to be shared with the world. If you haven't already heard about the White Lies then now is the best time. They have their CD titled to lose my life that came out in January. Yes, it was quite sometime ago but i was here siting in my room and listing to the song 'From the Stars' and it inspired me to write a blog.

Overnights bite.

I work at Mc Donalds. I've been there for about 2 years now, and I actually really like working there everyone is so chilled and laid back but we still get the job done. Which is good. Anywhoo, this weekend I had overnights. This is a shift from 11pm to 7am. Friday and Saturday. It's good money, but I hate feeling grogy. Since I'm in this sate i thought it would be a good time to UPDATE! yay!

Since last time,
Oh gee well PROM! That happened on June 25th and on the very same day .... i got my braces off. I was sooo excited. It was my second time getting them put on and I was really pissed. My only hope was to get them off by prom and I did :).

I'm in the peach :)
Here's the dress at a closer look. It's from Guess by Marciano

The prom it self was okay. I mean I really didn't expect much.
But, the after party was the fun part. Smokin Drinkin and Signing by a campfire, what more can you really ask for? It was held at a friends out, he has a great house for parties. It was all spent outside which was fine by me! I stayed up till 7am in the morning when I called my mom to pick me up.

Then there was,
SCENE fest

This is an outdoor event held in the hub of St. Catherines where a ton of diffrent bands play in all sorts of venues through out the area. It was good fun we saw bands such as Straight Reads the Line, Rebel Emergency, Chris Assad, Dean Lycker, Under Affifical Skies, Stereos, The Midway State, These Silloutes and more! We unfoutunaletly didn't get to see Marianas Trench because well it started to rain so they had to shut down that stage. It was outdoors and the equipment was gettin soaked along with a very angry crowd. So my friends and I took cover in a local Pita place. We had some munchies and then I was about the go to the washroom and These people were taking a picture with some one. And I almost ran into the whole thing. Then I'm like OH MY GOODNESS. I ran to back to my table quickly and was like "guys guys its the lead singer from Marianas Trench!!". Then we got our picture with him it was quite a successful day. While there we went to a neat vintage store. I bought a new purse it is sooo cute!

AND then,

I went Camping ! 3 friends and I went camping at long point. It was a 2day one night thing because some of us had work to get back to on the Wednesday :(. The time there was awesome! We spent most of our time on the beach or around the campfire. I became a master campfire cooker. I wish I had pictures but there on my friends camera, as soon as she posts them on facebook I'll post them on here.

SINCE,
Well I've been working and having random hangouts here and there nothing major. Ive finished two books. TWEAK by Nic Sheff and He's Just not that Into You. Both really good I recommend them. Tweak is about a teenager who subjects his life to Methamphetamines. It's a bit of a darker read, but i like those types of books. And HJNTITY is a light read I finished it in a day. Right now I'm reading Pride and the Prejudice by Jane Austen and Carrie by Stephen King.

Yesterday,
I went shopping and picked up a dress and a skirt :)
Heres the dress:
and the skirt I'll post when I wear it.

Music Update:
I recently stumbled on some new bands
Thrown Me The Statue
M83
Miike Snow

and I came across a great website rcrdlbl.com check it out !

Artist Update:
Check her out !

Here's my fav.:

I need more rest to recover from this daze I'm in.

15 mins,

Life,
for me at this very moment I am quite content.

On the June 20th I was Edge fest:
For those of you who don't know what this is, well i will fill you in. Its a concert held by the radio station 102.1 the edge. Ive never actually been to this festival before, but I heard that it doesn't disappoint. And it didn't ! The Arkelles where the first band and we got there just in time for their set. Fallowing after was The Stills, they were really good live. K-OS the hip-hop savor of Canada was good and Dallas Green even sang a little tune with him. Then (drum roll......) METRIC! This was my second time seeing them, this time however they had just recently released a new CD and they played all my favourites from it. They also played songs from their debut album and their second. then alexisonfire and AFI played-I'm not a fan of them- but they did do a good show. The last band to play was Billy Talent, they were so so good. Unfourtunatly we had to leave a tad early due to some mosh pit issues and no shoes. My one friend had to body surf out. Ha it was a good laugh in the end of it all.

Im running out of time and I have to go to work so ill finish this later.
